Fairfield Police Arrest Man Wanted on Multiple Warrants After SWAT Standoff Ends Without Injury at Southgate Boulevard Home

FAIRFIELD, OH — Fairfield police arrested a man wanted on multiple outstanding warrants after a standoff Thursday at a home on Southgate Boulevard.

MarcQuan D. Walton was taken into custody at 5326 Southgate Blvd. after officers responded to the situation and later called in the Hamilton/Fairfield SWAT team. Police said the arrest was made without incident.

Walton is wanted on warrants through the Middletown Police Department, including charges of felonious assault, domestic violence and aggravated menacing.

Warrants list felony and misdemeanor allegations from Middletown

According to police, the outstanding warrants tied Walton to three separate allegations in Middletown. The most serious is felonious assault, which is a second-degree felony.

He is also wanted on a domestic violence warrant, listed as a fourth-degree felony, and an aggravated menacing warrant, listed as a first-degree misdemeanor. Those charges were the basis for the warrants that led officers to seek him Thursday.

Fairfield police did not release additional details about the events that led to the warrants or what prompted the standoff at the Southgate Boulevard address.

Regional SWAT team called in during the response

Police said the Hamilton/Fairfield SWAT team was used after the standoff developed at the residence. The joint team assists with higher-risk situations in the area and was part of the response that ended with Walton in custody.

Authorities said Walton was arrested without incident, meaning no injuries were reported during the takedown. The decision to deploy SWAT suggests officers were dealing with a situation that required a more controlled approach than a routine arrest.

No further details were released about how long the standoff lasted or whether anyone else was inside the home.

Custody will shift to Butler County Jail after arrest

After the arrest, police said Walton will be taken to the Butler County Jail. That marks the next step in the criminal process after the Fairfield arrest and the execution of the outstanding warrants.

Jail booking will allow officials to process the warrants and determine the immediate custody status tied to the Middletown cases. Police did not say whether additional local charges are expected in Fairfield.

The arrest closed out a tense incident for officers in Fairfield, but authorities have not announced any broader investigation connected to the standoff.

How the Fairfield case fits into the wider local response

The arrest highlights how police agencies across southwest Ohio can work together when a person wanted on warrants is located outside the city where the alleged offenses occurred. In this case, Fairfield officers acted on warrants issued through Middletown police and then brought in the regional SWAT team.

That coordination is often used when officers face a standoff or another potentially unstable situation. Police described the arrest as uneventful once Walton was secured, and no injuries were reported.

Fairfield police have not said whether the Southgate Boulevard address is Walton’s residence or what led officers to that location on Thursday.

What police have said so far about the arrest

The Fairfield Police Department’s account is limited to the arrest itself, the outstanding warrants and the use of the Hamilton/Fairfield SWAT team. Officers have not provided a timeline for when Walton was first located or how the standoff began.

Even with those details still missing, the central facts are clear: Walton was wanted on multiple warrants, police moved in at a Fairfield address, and the situation ended without injury.

For now, his case moves to Butler County Jail as the criminal process tied to the warrants continues.
