New Media Lit is an independent publisher of daily U.S. local news. These standards guide everything we publish.

Accuracy & sourcing

We base our reporting on official sources — police and fire departments, courts, agencies, utilities and other authoritative information — and represent them faithfully.

Independence

Our editorial decisions are made by our newsroom alone. Advertising and partnerships never influence our coverage.

Updates

News develops. We update stories as new information emerges and label significant updates clearly.

Fairness

We report in clear language, separate confirmed facts from developing details, and avoid sensationalism.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly — see our Corrections Policy.
